Tom O’Grady was a fellow high school cross-country and track teammate back in the day when I attended Colonie Central High School in Colonie, New York. He was always a fierce competitor on the men’s team and friends with my older brother Matt through the years.

He’s followed BipolarBrave for some time now and reached out to me last year to talk to me about my mental health. I mentioned I was still running and he offered to coach me for a 5K and then feature my story in the local sports paper he writes for, Adirondack Sports.

Using a form of the training plan in Dr. Jack Daniel’s Running Formula, he and I communicated over email for several months and tracked my progress online. I would do the assigned workouts and report back to him on the log daily, checking in through email weekly.

Tom was encouraging and flexible when I had been inconvenienced by some head colds and finding out I was pregnant during the training. He provided doable and at times challenging workouts, and admitted he knew I had it in me to run better than I expected myself to in the final race I trained for. And he was right, I did.

I highly recommend Tom to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgable coach. Whether you want to achieve your personal best time in a road race or are looking to maintain a disciplined training routine with constant support and direction, I encourage you to contact Tom. He can be reached by email at OGradyStrategies@gmail.com and on his coaching profile at https://coaches.vdoto2.com/thomas-ogrady.
