Update Post for February 2021

I’m back! Time for another update post:

If you read my newsletter (you can sign up here to subscribe), you would have read why I am posting less frequently on the blog these days. To summarize: between working full-time, preparing for the baby, preparing to move, trying to start a coffee shop remotely, I’ve been limited to keeping the blog a weekly or even monthly commitment.

However, now that I’ve left my job, dropped the entrepreneurship venture, been snowed in since the job ended (thank you continental cold front), and have T-minus 9 days until baby arrives, I’ve found more time and energy to post. Imagine that!

So without further delay, here are a few new items I’m happy to update you with today:

Recommended reading from a few friends/fellow Christian mental health advocates:

    1. Tony Roberts (DelightinDisorder.com): When Despair Meets Delight (Audiobook version)When Despair Meets Delight book, Tony RobertsIn Tony’s second book on mental illness and faith, he shows us a perspective on the say he’s been treated as former clergy and clinical patient with a mental health diagnosis. He gives examples from his life of how he came through these trials, sought medical professional help, and found ways to build bridges between the despair and delight of his mood disorder. He shares truths and direction for the reader to help build their bridges to a life a delight, despite a mood disorder. Available in paperback, ebook, and now audiobook on Amazon. Disclaimer: I have read all three of these amazing books and recommend them to you because I have been apart of their launch teams. I don’t receive any monetary kickbacks or incentives for doing so. Thank you for supporting my author friends and spreading the word!

Vlogging idea:

I’ve been considering sharing my answers/lessons learned on faith and mental health through a different medium.

I want your opinion!

I’m contemplating starting vlogging or live streaming. I know there are many options.

Prepared videos on a YouTube channel/Facebook page, or impromptu live streams on YouTube, Facebook or Instagram. There are so many different ways to deliver a relatively short 3-6 minute session to share with you the lessons I’ve learned, helpful answers to questions you may have, and maybe some current events commentary (limited to mental health in church/society), and/or personal life updates.

My question to you is, do you think you would be interested in watching and by which method? I value your input and appreciate any feedback on this, so let me know in the comments section on this post!

Thank you for stopping by and reading the post today!

Stay bold, brave, and real,

Katie

I definitely would be interested! I don’t have Instagram though, so that would not be a platform that I would choose. I definitely think a Facebook page would be great! Thank you for doing this! I’m praying for you!

What do you think?
