Holiday Hits Mashup “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Symptoms”
There are so many heavy topics surrounding the holidays and I don’t want to get into the heavy stuff. I’d like to share the blessings of having a little fun this time of year. I’d like to make light of the fact that bipolar disorder can have so much creative license – in mania or out of it. So to prove my zest and zeal for this lovely time of year I’ll be writing parodies on Christmas Carols. Joy to the bipolar world!
It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Symptoms (To the tune of ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’)
It’s beginning to look a lot like symptoms
Everywhere I go
Take a look in my manic eyes, glistening with surprise,
With shortness of breath my face is all aglow
It’s beginning to look a lot like symptoms
Quickening speech and thoughts speed by,
But the craziest sight to see in the creativity
Is in my own mind’s eye
A voice that could sing and a plane that could bring
Me to cast in blockbuster scenes
Credit card bills, and Hollywood thrills
They’re the bane of my bipolar genes
And all my family can hardly breathe for now I’ve lost my mind
It’s beginning to look a lot like symptoms
Everywhere I go
There’s a sign in the Mason Guild, one for the cult they build
The secret kind that no one’s supposed to know
It’s beginning to look a lot like symptoms
Soon the voices will start
And the thing that will make them stop, is the anti-psychotics I pop
That my doc prescribes
It’s beginning to look a lot like symptoms
Soon the voices will start
And the thing that will make them stop, is the anti-psychotics I pop
That my doc prescribes
It’s beginning to look a lot like Symptoms, Symptoms, Symptoms, Symptoms, Symptoms
