13 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Give Up Hope
That seemingly elusive word “hope” conjures mixed feelings in me. I feel like sometimes I had none, while most of the time I wish I had more. And to refute all the messages coming at someone who thinks they would be better off giving up on life, let me give you 13 reasons why you shouldn’t give up on hope, life, or yourself, for that matter:
-
God loves you and never once gave up on you. He’s the only one who died for you so you wouldn’t have to.
-
Chances are, many people already love, admire and care about you.
-
The pain may be a lot, but it’s never too much. Even if it feels like it is, Jesus knows exactly how you feel. He is close to the brokenhearted. (Ps. 34:18)
-
You’re not the only one suffering – others have suffered what you are going through or worse and have survived.
-
Taking your life would be self-serving and selfish.
-
Life is full of blessings when you look for them.
-
People are going to hurt you, that’s just a fact of life.
-
You have to believe this too shall pass, things will get better.
-
You aren’t giving yourself a chance to grow and learn if you give up on life.
-
The pain continues and is multiplied, extending to others when you give up.
-
You have a significantly special purpose in life. You may not know what it is until you give yourself the chance.
-
Someone else will be able to learn from your life if you choose to stay alive, and won’t learn anything from you giving up.
-
Life isn’t over until God says it’s over.
